Skills: Administer chemo.
Certs: Chemotherapy administration certification is required! BLS.
PREFERRED SKILLS / CERTS / EXP: CPI. Charge nurse experience.
JOB DETAILS:
Target Ratios: 1:6-7
Shift: nights; 36 hours only. 8 WEEKS ONLY!
RTO: 7 days MAX
Call Requirement:Call required if called off on a prescheduled shift.
Float Requirement: Floating required to similar units and alternate care locations with inpatients holding. Like units includes floating to inpatient holding in the ED, or any alternate medical patient care location.
PATIENT DIAGNOSES: High Acuity Adults and Geriatrics.
**Contract staff may be required to care for patients with COVID.
SPECIAL PROCEDURES / UNIT DETAILS: Daily Census 42.
General medical-surgical diagnosis primary patient population. Administration of chemotherapy/biotherapy -IV, PO, or injection. DKA – Insulin drip, AKI, Sepsis, Cancer, Septic shock, Pain, OD, Malignant Neoplasms, ARF, Encephalopathy, FTT, Diabetic foot ulcers, Heparin drips.
UNIT SYSTEMS (Medication, Documentation, Communication): PYXIS, EPIC, SBAR.
UNIT ORIENTATION: 24 hrs (2 shifts)
SCRUBS: Navy Blue and white.
